Sorta-SEGA: Freedom Planet Heads to the Wii-U

Announced at PAX East, Sonic the Hedgehog inspired action platformer entitled “Freedom Planet” has been getting positive to rave reviews on the PC and now it is making its way to the Wii-U.

Playing this on a console on my HDTV is exactly how I wanted to play this game. For me, this makes it the best “Sonic” exclusive on Nintendo hardware (zing!). Ha!

NOT-A-SEGA: The Vagrant Kickstarter Brings Unreal 4 Tech to 2D

The Vagrant looks like it is a homage to Princess Crown, Odin Sphere, Muramasa, and Dragon’s Crown. It is a beat’em up that features cooking mechanics to create in game items with stat boosts.

The game is currently in development for the PC with consoles as a consideration down the line. The team is asking for GBP 20,000 with 23 days to go and have raised 10% so far. Check it out: here.

Those graphics are pretty stunning and I hope this game see the light of day.

DENGEKI BUNKO: FIGHTING CLIMAX is Westward Bound!

SEGA is bringing another Japanese title to the West in the crazy anime brawler entitled Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax. The game will be available digitally on PSN this Summer for PS3 and Vita. No word on price yet.

Between this a Yakuza 5 – SEGA is looking to really stress my PS3 hard drive. Better digital than not at all, I say! Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is developed by French Bread and Ecole. Good stuff! I may still import a copy from Japan, though.

Anyone else thinking that SEGA needs their own online distribution service? I would love a digital box that game me access to all SEGA’s arcade titles.
